DES can offer employers the opportunity to assess the suitability of an applicant through the DES Workplace Training and Assessment program and/or the Work Experience Program (subject to qualification). This provides the employer an opportunity to determine if the jobseeker will be able to:
- Undertake the duties required at a productive level;
- Fit into the workplace environment;and
- Interact effectively with co-workers and/ or customers.
- identify the Jobseeker's skills, including reliability, responsibility, safety and flexibility; and
- Overcome any perceptions your team may have that relate to disability or people with disability
Work Cover and Public Liability insurance in such programs is covered through the DES organisation.
This process may also be utilized by DES to assess the capacities, skills and needs of the Jobseeker and the workplace, and determine qualification to possible employer incentives.
